Abstract
- This article offers account about the transportation of a stator by General Electric from Schenectady, New York to the Boston Edison Company's power station on the Mystic River at Everett, Massachusetts. The stator is the largest part of turbines which generate electricity for U.S. cities. This stator piece weighed 226 tons. Rudi Richard Korn and Lorenz Osterlitz were the ones assigned to oversee the shipment. The difficulties experienced during the shipment are highlighted.
