Abstract

This article focuses on game laws in the U.S. During close season for hunting does, the fine charged to poachers is $102.50 and the deer will be confiscated. In open season, it may be assumed that all deer whose sex is in doubt will be subjected to a wrenching or yanking of antlers by the game-protector force. The deer country of the Northeast covers Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maine. The risks facing game protectors are discussed.
