Abstract

The article focuses on U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt being called a poor man's friend and presents arguments against the same. The president has created a large volume of social legislation for the poor but its net effect on the poor and other classes is yet to be determined. A large part of it is impractical. Its being speculated that grants, subsidies and projects for the poor are being offered with the purpose of building a favorable electorate.
