GRANT IMAHARA: Debunker in The Box.

The article profiles Grant Imahara, cast member of "MythBusters" of Discovery Channel in San Francisco, California. In the show, Imahara uses discusses myths and legends and separate the scientific facts from fiction. He earned his degree in electrical engineering at the University of Southern California and worked as a research assistant to professor Tom Holman at THX Labs after graduation. When a two-week trial position at Industrial Light and Magic model workshop opened, Imahara signed in and stayed for nine years. In "Star Wars" trilogy, Imahara was assigned to update an aging phalanx of R2-D2 robots. But last year, he started to look for another job because he felt that computer graphic innovations made movie model building obsolete.
