Abstract
- The TOBIAS and NESS systems, developed 10 years apart and for different purposes, both make a central use of roles in their access control schemes. However, roles are only a part of the complete mechanism as, on their own, they do not provide controls that are sufficiently fine-grained. The paper describes how roles are used in the two systems and how they interact with the other structures to control access to resources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
