Abstract
- The editorial introduces the new Editor-in-Chief of the "IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering" journal, Jeff Kramer, professor in the Department of Computing at the Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine in London, England. The status of the journal is discussed, including gratitude for the creativity displayed in the 341 papers received in 2005. The future of the software industry is discussed, along with difficulties in improving reliability and lowering production cost.
