WOOD RECYCLING EQUIPMENT TRENDS AND INNOVATIONS.

The article surveys wood recycling practices and equipment. Interviews with manufacturers of grinders, shredders and chippers were conducted to provide insight into advanced designs and innovations. Developments include computer controls to detect contaminants and monitor feed rates, the addition of track-mounted models to optimize materials handling and facilitate wood processing in forestry applications, and the introduction of heavy-duty grinders to service construction and demolition debris processing as well as storm-generated debris.
