The article relates the author's experience of escorting Russian novelist Ilya Ehrenburg, poet Konstantin Simonov and the late Major General Mikhail Galaktionov on a U.S. tour. The novelist and the poet wanted to buy new automobiles which made the author mad because of their insistence. It is said that they addressed the annual convention of the American Society of Newspaper Editors in Washington when day arrived in the U.S.
