Abstract

As a result of the increasing sophistication o four communication technology, a new role for the home as a learning center is developing. The home as a learning center can serve the purposes of developing children's concepts of work and leisure; training young persons and adults for occupational competency; preparing older workers for new careers; developing competencies of men and women for their homemaking and family life responsibilities; serving in unique ways the career education needs of exceptional children; and promoting personal development and a sense of worth for persons of all ages.
