Abstract

The article focuses on extending the boundaries of Beryllium Detection with the Agilent 7500ce Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectroscopy. Beryllium (Be) is required to be measured at ultratrace levels. Commercially important Be compounds exhibit pulmonary toxicity, although it is relatively non-toxic in its natural ore state. Be has been classified as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environment Protection Agency. Precision and accuracy at the low level were evaluated by alternating between samples diluted. It was seen that the long term precision and accuracy shows recoveries of greater than 97% and precision in the order of 1-2% over more than 8 hours of continuous analysis.
