Abstract

The article discusses the study "Glucose Represses Connexin36 in Insulin-Secreting Cells," by David Martin, Gerard Waeber et al., published in the "Journal of Cell Science." The researchers investigated whether the expression of Connexin36 is regulated by glucose in insulin-producing cells. The study suggests that glucose represses the expression of Connexin36 through the cAMP-PKA pathway, which activates a member of the cAMP responsive element binding protein family.
