Abstract
- Abstract: We use small-time rapid distortion expansions for a homogeneous rotational turbulence starting from an isotropic state to build closure relationships for rapid terms in the equations for turbulence, and for the symmetrized stropholysis equation. We show that closures like , both for and eventually , are not compatible with RDT. Also, closures , , are compatible with RDT. The expansions of isotropic functionals of this type are identified to third-order in time and a realisable model is given for the single closure. Finally it is shown that the obtained closures are consistent with damped inertial waves in the pure rotation problem. To cite this article: J. Piquet, C. R. Mecanique 334 (2006).
