Abstract

The article focuses on the selections made by Doctor L. Prothero of Manchester University, as of September 1966, from the Francis Place Papers. According to the author, a representative from the Society for the Study of Labour History, the selections are about the Reform Crisis of 1830-1832 and consist of fourteen manuscript volumes and six volumes of further manuscript material including newspaper cuttings. The microfilmed form of the selections will be available at £60. Place is a Champion of Radicalism and the Right of Combination and a prominent figure in the development of the Labour Movement in nineteenth-century England.
