Abstract: In this article, the author examines the problems currently faced by the government of Pakistan in dealing with madrasas by narrating his experience of visiting the country in time of its Independence Day celebration on August 14, 2005. Several madrasas had been accused of extremism or chumming out terrorists and sending their students to fight jihad.
