Overcoming Another Obstacle: Archiving a Community's Disabled History.

The article examines the launch of the Regional Disability History Archive Project at the University of Toledo from a larger context of public disability history activism in the U.S. The need to archive the history of disability studies is borne out of the reality that few archival repositories document the lives of disabled. Thus, the project expands areas of opportunity and research for professional training of public historians and contributes to the goal of institutional community outreach.
