Abstract
- This article focuses on the representation of the bear in the poetry of John Milton. The bear in Milton's works signifies rather not the cruelty and ferocity of rebels but that of the rapaciousness of the state in executing justice. In his juxtaposition "Kids: Bears," Milton also represents the bear as not having carnivorous instincts.
