Abstract
- The article discusses transnational adoption of Chinese children in Canada. An estimated number of 8, 000 Chinese children were adopted to Canada since 1993. The adoption builds social relations between people and institutions. There are contradictions that exist between the processes and practices of transnational adoption and the needs of Chinese orphans.
