Abstract

The article reports on the move of engineers at Nissan Motor Corp. to evaluate a software known as CRI/Turbo Kiva that produces possibly the world's most complex combustion simulation in the Eagan, Minnesota. The software enables the engineers to make minute design modifications to subtly alter combustion chamber geometry or spark timing. It offers engineers a tool for positively affecting two key design parameters that includes time and cost.
