Fetal nasal bone: Review of first trimester findings.

The article reviews findings from first trimester evaluations of absent fetal nasal bone, a key marker of Down syndrome or trisomy 21. It also offers guidelines for obtaining the proper view of the fetal nasal bone during first trimester evaluation and discusses several studies showing that the ability to obtain the appropriate view and the ability to learn how to perform the examination are reasonably attainable.
