Abstract

This paper considers how unique legal environments—regime complexes—surrounding issue-areas matter for determining developing country influence in international governance. It considers specifically the case of international food safety governance. The paper finds that there are distinguishing characteristics of the food safety regime complex and that these characteristics might affect developing countries (and other countries) by impacting their actions and their knowledge of the strategic setting.
