Abstract
- Analyze the evidence regarding nursing care for pediatric patients with seizures, in oncology nursing, according to NANDA-I diagnoses. This is an Integrative Review, based on the LILACS, CINAHL, SCOPUS, WOS and PUBMED databases. Primary studies were included between 2018 and 2023, using a validated form and uploading to the Rayyan web application. Of 555 studies, only 7 were chosen, revealing the scarcity of approaches in oncology nursing. The majority of studies presented level (VI) of evidence (n=42.8%). Unspecified Epilepsy was prevalent (n=42.8%). Nursing diagnoses included: impaired communication, risk of acute confusion, pain, anxiety, fatigue and sleep pattern disturbance. Two axes were outlined: "Educational interventions before seizures" and "Interventions during and after seizures". Nursing care was crucial in reducing medication administration time, facilitating the identification of signs and symptoms, accelerating anticonvulsant therapy and reducing intensive care, hospital costs and readmission rates.
