This paper advocates a transcultural dimension for everyday aesthetics from the grounds of pragmatist aesthetics, with particular attention to East-Asia. The deweyan notion of rhythm will help build a bridge with classical Chinese aesthetics; the arts of the brush will help illustrate how the everyday and ordinary are central themes.
