Abstract

In this article, the commentaries written on Tayyibat al-Nashr, which were written in verse by Ibn al-Jazari (d. 833/1429), who pioneered the spread and institutionalization of the science of qiraat in the Ottoman lands, are introduced in outline. In this context, firstly, the place of Tayyibat al-Nashr in the teaching of Qiraat is discussed. Then the commentaries on Tayyibat, which we attribute primary importance, are analyzed in terms of content and methodology and subjected to a general evaluation. Only the imprint information of the works about which detailed information could not be found or which were not considered to have the characteristics of a complete commentary was included. The support of Tayyibe, which is both content- and technically dense and contains several literary and poetic forms, and is therefore considered to be the pinnacle of eloquence, with the works of commentaries, either abridged or detailed, has made the use of the verse widespread and at the same time made it easier to benefit from the work. In that respect, the commentaries as mentioned earlier can be considered as important sources that have the quality of a guide and reference for understanding Tayyibe. The main theme of the study is Tayyibe-centered commentaries, and by introducing these commentaries, it aims to give a general idea to those who want to do research in the field, thus contributing to the literature.
