Abstract

The purpose of this study was to critically analyze three textbooks that are applied in high school, in the discipline of Chemistry. The methodology used was qualitative, bibliographical research, using scientific articles, on digital platforms and legislation. The research was comparative between textbooks used in Public Schools in Laranjeiras do Sul, in the state of Paraná. It was found that one of the biggest challenges of teaching Chemistry is establishing links between school knowledge and the daily lives of students. In analyzing the books, it was found that these teaching materials are, in general, good, each with its own specificities, however, they do not satisfactorily address the reality of Rural Education.
