Abstract
- The article suggests that Whiteness is a critical, albeit often overlooked, component of U.S. racism and consequently a major contributor to broader U.S.-based social inequalities and health inequities. Topics discussed include unexamined phenomena associated with the relationship between Whiteness and population health, influence of the history of differential U.S. immigration policy on White racial construction, and the need to address Whiteness to disempower systemic racism.
