Abstract

The article discusses the use of layer-by-layer assembled 2D nanocomposites for extreme polarization optics, showcasing their potential in high-temperature environments. The study by Kotov and colleagues demonstrates the assembly of nano-achiral 2D nanoplatelets into polarization-active nanocomposites with exceptional optical properties. These nanocomposites exhibit intense circular polarization even at 250°C, surpassing the performance of typical nanomaterials by approximately 500 times. The research highlights the simplicity of the manufacturing process and the significant impact of these optically active nanocomposites on extreme polarization optics. [Extracted from the article]
