Abstract

Mentoring is a powerful way to help people grow personally and professionally – to guide them throughout their careers. Mentoring provides insights to support another person's understanding of a specific area in career or life. The same can be said about research collaboration – it not only benefits the scientific community or research group, but it benefits tremendously the individual researcher. As an early career scientist, I have the privilege of being a mentee in the new International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Mentorship Program and member of Task Group 111: Factors Governing the Individual Response of Humans to Ionising Radiation (TG 111). In this article, I will expand on the presentation that I provided during the "Involving Young Professionals" session during the ICRP 2021+1 Symposium in Vancouver. I will describe the ICRP Mentorship Programme and briefly describe some of the work that I am conducting for TG 111. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
