Abstract

The article discusses the prevention of anti-D alloimmunisation in D-negative recipients receiving solid organ transplants from D-positive donors. It highlights the importance of estimating residual D-positive RBCs in recipients post-transplant and administering prophylactic anti-D (PAD) to prevent sensitisation. The study recommends routine administration of 1500 IU PAD for D-negative adult patients following a D-positive SOT to mitigate sensitisation risks. The findings underscore the critical role of PAD administration in safeguarding patients' long-term health outcomes and minimizing complications associated with alloimmunisation events.
