Abstract

The article discusses the historical concealment of menstrual differences and the development of industrial products related to menstruation in techno-scientific capitalism. It explores alternative technologies and sociocultural contexts in Brazil that redefine menstruation beyond medical definitions. The text presents a thematic cluster of papers that analyze menstruation from feminist STS perspectives, addressing issues of power, gender, and colonial legacies in Brazil, Latin America, and India. The papers highlight the importance of expanding menstrual studies to include diverse experiences and advocate for decolonial and feminist approaches to challenge biases and provide inclusive solutions.
