Abstract

In Venezuela, oil has generated a unique literary form. This manifests itself in novels, stories, myths, stories, poetry, chronicles, legends, theater, essays and other sensitive expressions, addressing one of the most complex and marginalized topics: the capture of hydrocarbons over three centuries. This topic, often denied and not very transparent for society, is presented as something distant. However, when examined in depth, it reveals a hidden calling, perhaps forgotten, but still very present due to economic interests. The dreams associated with oil have left a dark mark on the means to achieve progress in this society. Never has such a real topic been so overshadowed. This text is capable of recognizing its resources, but in its hands, it hides its entire history. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
