Abstract
- Over the preceding several decades, numerous red phosphors have been synthesized and developed. The currently using light emitting diode (LED) phosphor spectrum lacks red light, leading to inadequate production of white LED material and a low color rendering index, which impacts lighting effects. The present work outlines the synthesis, photoluminescence, Judd-Ofelt analysis, and optical properties of the promising red phosphor K 2 MgP 2 O 7 : Eu3+. When the synthesized sample is exposed to ultraviolet light (392 nm), it emits the characteristic emission of Eu3+ ions. The most prominent emission peak is centered at wavelength 617 nm which gives emission in the crimson region of the color gamut. The value of the branching ratio is above 50 % for the most intense transition dictates the possible laser emission transition. The findings of all these studies demonstrate that K 2 MgP 2 O 7 : Eu3+ is a potential red phosphor for use in white LEDs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
