Abstract

The article discusses the value of programmatic assessment for faculty members and introduces a professional development series that connects the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) with academic program assessment. The workshop, initially implemented at the International University of Grand-Bassam in Côte d'Ivoire, focuses on how SoTL research design can improve programmatic assessment plans. Recommendations for adapting the workshop include selecting the delivery mode, considering audience interaction, recognizing the place for SoTL at institutions, and creating follow-up meetings for dissemination.
