Abstract
- The article discusses the association of myokines with disease progression in primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) patients, building on previous research in alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). The study found that myostatin levels increased and decorin levels decreased as PBC advanced, similar to findings in ALD patients. These results suggest that myokines could serve as potential biomarkers for monitoring disease progression in chronic liver diseases like PBC. Further research is needed to validate these findings.
