Abstract

The article discusses the evaluation of oral immunotherapy in hazelnut allergy among pediatric patients in Toulouse, France. The study aimed to desensitize patients through a hazelnut OIT protocol, with 52.2% of patients considered desensitized after a year. Adverse events during home OIT were mostly mild, but there was a high discontinuation rate. Lower IgE levels were associated with a higher likelihood of desensitization, and predictive thresholds for desensitization were established. Further studies with larger sample sizes are recommended to confirm these results. [Extracted from the article]
