Abstract

AbstractThe study of money’s semantics and social dynamics offers insights into its evolving role in different cultures and societies. This research aims to explore the historical evolution, cultural impact, and modern interpretations of money through an anthropological lens. Utilizing a cross-cultural analysis, the study examines various historical records, cultural artifacts, and contemporary practices related to money. Findings reveal that money, initially a tool for economic exchange, has always been a powerful symbol of political authority and social hierarchy. Despite its undemocratic origins, it remains central to modern economies, facilitating value measurement, circulation, and accumulation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
