Indigenous History Book Reclassified as Fiction, Then Restored.

The article discusses the reversal on the challenge for the book "Colonization and the Wampanoag Story" by Linda Coombs made by the Montgomery County Memorial Library (MCML). The Texas Freedom to Read Project reported that the book was challenged in September 2024 and moved out of the juvenile nonfiction area. PEN America and some organizations asked Montgomery country to overturn the Review Committee's decision on the book and order it to stay in the Juvenile Nonfiction Collection.
