Investigates the stimulation of melanogenesis by the hot water extract of adzuki beans (Vigna angularis) in cultured murine B16 melanoma cells and C3H mice. Indication that the distilled water fraction (WEx) can stimulate tyrosinase activity in cultured mouse B16 melanoma cells and hair color pigmentation in C3H mice; WEx stimulation of melanogenesis without inhibiting cell growth; Finding that WEx have pigmentation activity on hair color in C3H mice.
