Abstract

Approximately 60% of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) cases lack a clear explanation for their cause. It has a deep emotional impact on the patient and her family. Couples often experience anxiety, frustration, and feelings of despair. While Immunotherapy remains unproven for addressing unexplained RPL, growing evidence suggest high uterine natural killer (uNK) cell activity preventing embryos from implanting and developing properly in the uterus. Intralipids, which are mainly used as a part of total parenteral nutrition, have shown in research to deactivate natural killer cells in a woman's body. Based on these principles, intralipid infusions have been tried in a single or multiple doses to help with conception and to maintain the pregnancy in cases of RPL. We have successfully used a single dose of intralipid infusion in cases of unexplained RPL with excellent outcomes at an affordable cost. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
