Abstract

The article presents evidence of antibodies against Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus in various livestock species in Nigeria. The study screened 467 serum samples from cattle, goats, sheep, and camels collected between 2019-2020 in four Nigerian states. The results showed an overall seroprevalence of 37.7%, with the highest prevalence observed in camels from Kano State. The findings suggest that domestic animals in Nigeria may play a role in the epidemiology of the disease, highlighting the potential risk of human infection. [Extracted from the article]
