Abstract
- The article "Systematic 'Apple-to-Apple' Comparison of Single-Crystal and Polycrystalline Ni-Rich Cathode Active Materials" in the journal "Small Structures" compares the cycle life of conventional polycrystal (PC)-based Li[NixMnyCoz]O2 (NMC) with single crystal (SC)-based NMC cathodes. Both cathode types are synthesized from identical precursors, with the SC-NMC showing superior cycle life despite requiring a higher cutoff voltage. The research was conducted by a team of authors including Johannes Kasnatscheew, Marco Joes Lüther, Shi-Kai Jiang, Martin Alexander Lange, Julius Buchmann, Aurora Gómez Martín, Richard Schmuch, Tobias Placke, Bing Joe Hwang, and Martin Winter.
