Abstract
- In this paper, a time-domain solution for Rayleigh wave scattering from a complex site of Alpine Valley is presented based on the scaled boundary finite element method (SBFEM). Both the near-field region and the far-field region are assumed to be homogeneous, isotropic linear elastomers, where the near-field region is discretized using the quadtree method and the far-field region is simulated with a displacement unit impulse response function. The input of Rayleigh waves is solved by the equivalent loading method. The scattering behavior of seismic waves in alpine valleys is comprehensively analyzed, and the results are of theoretical significance for site safety evaluation and seismic defenses.
