A novel technique for proximal inferior vena cava control during tumor thrombectomy using the COBRA-OS balloon.

The article focuses on renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombus, which occurs in 4–10 present of patients and may extend to various stages, requiring an intensive surgical approach for treatment. Topics include the staging of IVC tumor thrombus, the effectiveness of radical nephrectomy and IVC thrombectomy in curing RCC with IVC thrombus, and a case report where the COBRA-OS® vascular balloon system was used to gain proximal control during surgery.
