Abstract

A literary criticism of the book "Reconsidering the Life of Power: Ritual, Body, and Art in Critical Theory and Chinese Philosophy," by James Garrison, is presented. It examines readings of texts by European philosophers featured in the book, the book as a critical response to Judith Butler's account of the psychodynamics of power, and Garrison's use of Confucian insights.
