Abstract

A recent study from Maastricht University revealed that individuals' brains respond differently to microdoses of LSD, potentially explaining the mixed results in previous research. The study involved 47 healthy volunteers who received either microdoses of LSD or a placebo, showing that microdosing had both positive effects on brain arousal and auditory tests, but also negative impacts on visual learning processes. Additionally, a meta-analysis by Paul Siegel and Bradley S. Peterson found that unconscious exposure therapy can effectively reduce fear responses. Lastly, a multinational team discovered that while reflectiveness and socio-emotional awareness are universally acknowledged as key features of wisdom, there are cultural variations in the traits associated with wisdom.
