Abstract
- The author discusses the evolution of online information retrieval (OIR) or search as of 2024. Topics covered include the use of the command language DIALOG, the dial-up connection with a phone, the use of the Boolean operator OR, and search boxes in retrieval interfaces. Also noted are browser Google's relevancy ranking and citation analysis, and artificial intelligence's (AI) provision of iteration in natural language with its best use in broad topical searches.
