This article offers a theoretical perspective on analysing the State during transitions, defined as the shift from periods of conflict to peace attempts through negotiations with illegal armed groups, institutional reforms, and state practices. It becomes apparent that the State is neither uniform nor static but constantly shaping and reshaping. Transition reveals the State as a battleground, where conflicts arise over defining the new beginning or society. Hence, the suggested approach to studying the State in such contexts focuses on relational perspectives and the examination of local and everyday dynamics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
