Abstract

HERA's landmark Finkel–Johnson article uses lay elicitations about de-minimis and insignificant risk/cost to outline a new risk-assessment paradigm. This response outlines their paradigm's many strengths and raises three main questions and 10 subquestions (Q1–Q10) to help make their paradigm even better. These questions address context-dependent-risk probabilities; single-chemical exposure, joint-multichemical-action risks; and survey respondents' objective numeracy. The response shows chemical body burdens also demonstrate the need for a new paradigm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
