The Medium Is the Message.

The article recounts the life and works of African American revolutionary artist Elizabeth Catlett. It highlights Catlett's feminism and concern for Black women workers that informed some of her work such as "The Negro Woman" "I Have Always Worked hard in America," as well as her use of the vertical and horizontal and of augmented body parts in like the terracotta "Young Girl," the sculpture "Tired" and the paintings "Sharecropper" and "WorkingWoman."
