Abstract
- The article discusses the use of CRISPR-based approaches to study inborn errors of immunity (IEI), focusing on human natural killer (NK) cells. The study identified a gene, MEF2C, associated with NK cell defects in patients with MEF2C haploinsufficiency syndrome (MCHS), a neurodevelopmental disorder. The research suggests a potential link between neurodevelopmental disorders and immune deficiencies, highlighting the importance of further study to better identify and care for potentially immunodeficient patients. The study's findings demonstrate the utility of CRISPR tools in identifying new IEIs and advancing our understanding of immune disorders. [Extracted from the article]
