Abstract
- This paper focuses on designing a band stop filter based on epsilon-negative frequency-selective surface (FSS). The unit cell has an electrical length of 0.104λ0 × 0.104λ0 which offers a bandwidth of 2.53 GHz from 1.24 GHz to 3.77 GHz. It has a center frequency of 2.44 GHz and the obtained fractional bandwidth is above 100%. Additionally, the behavior of the presented FSS is explained by the equivalent circuit model and surface current distribution. Within the entire bandwidth, it offers a negative permittivity. The refractive index of BSF is almost zero for 2.45−3.98 GHz range of frequency. The proposed FSS structure exhibits polarization-independent properties and offers a stable frequency response for normal and oblique angles under both TE and TM polarization. Good agreement between the simulated and measured results is obtained for the designed prototype. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
